"I've been taking my dogs to AC Animal Hospital for approx 2 years. Our pug got sick last November and Dr. Tarrant & Natasha went above and beyond to help him, unfortunately he was terminal but he had the best care possible. Our new puppy has had some health problems and I know she's in the best hands with Dr. Tarrant.... The most unique part of his service that I really appreciate is that he takes his time with you during your appointments. There is no double booking and being rushed in and out. You will quickly learn that Dr. Tarrant and Natasha really love animals, they treat them with such love and compassion, it makes you very comfortable to know they in the care of skilled and caring people when they are sick.

Mike grew up in a small farming town of 200 people in Oklahoma where he gained invaluable experience working with horses, cattle, and farming. He attended college at the University of Kansas and Oklahoma State University where he graduated in 2003 as a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM). From there, he worked at a mixed animal practice where his time was divided between small animals and horses. He and his wife started Arbor Creek Animal Hospital in April 2006. One of the main factors in the decision to start the hospital was to be able to provide high-quality medicine for the animals in an atmosphere that is friendly and family-oriented. Some of Dr. Tarrant’s professional interests include anesthesia and pain management, dentistry, and acupuncture. He attended extra courses on acupuncture through the International Veterinary Acupuncture Society and is now certified in veterinary acupuncture. He is a member of the AVMA, KVMA, KSVMA, IVAS, Olathe Chamber of Commerce, and the Kansas City Herpetologic Society. When not at work, he enjoys spending time with his family and friends, maintaining the reptile collection, gardening, archery, and almost any form of motorsports.
Natasha has grown up with and been involved with animals from a very young age. She started as a volunteer at the Sedgwick County Zoo in Wichita Kansas when she was 12 years old. There she had the opportunity to assist keepers in all areas of the zoo. After working with the many different animals at the zoo she found that her heart was in the Herpetarium (Reptiles and Amphibians). She started as a full time volunteer in the Herpetarium and soon worked her way up to a Keeper position that put her caring for over 2000 animals including fish, frogs, Giant tortoises, Komodo Dragons and many snake species from around the world. She then took a position at the St. Louis zoo where she was involved with many breeding projects of endangered and threatened species. Natasha also has many years experience working as a veterinary assistant and was a manager at a Saddlebred horse breeding facility. She and her husband, Mike, have two boys (Asa & Gage), a Great Dane named Zen, a Rottweiler named Capone, 6 cats (she has bottle raised all 6 from just a day old), and a collection of reptiles. Among her hobbies are spending time with Mike, her boys and their animals, photography, gardening, breeding reptiles and Tae Kwon Do.
Courtney grew up in Illinois and Indiana but moved to Kansas in 2000. She inherited a love and appreciation of animals at an early age from her mother. She has been involved with animals most of her life and has cared for a wide variety of species including reptiles, amphibians, avian and marsupials. Courtney currently shares her home with her dog, Tyson and cats, Chum and Cisco. Some of her favorite hobbies include photography, reading, hiking, the occasional “herp hunt” (finding and observing reptiles and amphibians in their native environment) and spending time with family and friends. Courtney is a joy to work with and is amazing with both clients and their animal companions; she is a skilled assistant and is an invaluable asset to out team.
Carrie is a registered veterinarian technician that joined our team in March of 2010. She is a native of Kansas and attended Bel-Rea Institute of Animal Technology in Denver, CO, where she received her associates of applied science in animal medicine. She has worked in animal medicine since the age of 14 and thus has worked in a wide variety of animal hospitals which cared for dogs, cats, avian, rodent, reptile, and livestock patients. She came to us from Veterinary Specialty and Emergency Center in Overland Park. Carrie brings a wealth of knowledge and skills to our team as well as a dynamic personality and true passion for her career. Although she enjoys all aspects of Veterinary Medicine, she takes a serious interest in animal dentistry and weight loss. Carrie enjoys movies, reading, and spending time with Panama Jack, her wonderful three legged, one eyed Labrador mix.
Kandi grew up in Kansas City, Kansas. She has had pets all her life but has a special place in her heart for Chihuahuas. She has worked in the animal care industry since 2005. She has a wonderful heart, super organizational skills and the knowledge to keep our front office running smooth. Kandi has two children (Joshua and Jaycee), two step-daughters, and one 4 legged child (a beagle name Tanner). She spends her off time chasing her toddler, taking care of her newborn, and enjoying family time.
